We are all avid EQ enthusiasts who have played variations of EQ since 1999. Of all the eras of EQ we enjoyed the PoP era the most, this drew us to AK until it was shutdown in 2012. We became aware of a fledgling replica of AK during May of 2014. A few of us helped during the Alpha Development of Tak project, we did player testing and bug reporting, as well as server work. After Beta release we parted ways due to disagreements with the TAK project development team. Project 2002 was born. We hold no grudges or issues with TAK project and hope to happily co-exist. Both servers have different goals.
To make a planes of power server.
We are not here to recreate Al'Kabor. We are here to craft a server that has a focused time frame in an era of everquest we enjoy.
Use rapid software development practices to ship fast and often.
We work in iterations of content creation. While the first iteration will not be perfect it will be playable.
After each expansion release we spend time observing user feedback and fixing and patching things we may have missed.
The rise of the EQmacEmu project lets us use clients from that era along with opening up the playing field to mac users.
The contributors of p2002 are industry professionals ranging from Software Architecture, Database Administration, to IT Professionals. We have 8 active contributing members.
