The Parchment Gamble

Postby Hazel » Fri Jul 13, 2018 12:25 pm

I've seen players auctioning "parchment turn ins".

This seems a little suspect to me. Maybe it's my history of dealing with the worst of the worst EQ players.

What would prevent a scammer from having a bunch of undesirable spells in their inventory, turning in "your" parchment, and if they were to receive a desirable spell on turn in, give you one of the undesirable they already had in their inventory? You don't see in group what was received.

I guess it's buyer beware, but I still think it would be considered scamming.

i would say just buy from people you trust, not that hard to report a complaint to the guilds that have those parchments to spare and get it ironed out.

Why not just turn in and sell the spell?

I have no idea why anyone would buy a turnin when they can just buy the spell.

the Only appeal to this is.. not every class gets spammed with turn ins so some spells are not on the market. this allows you to request a specific class turn in.

It was common on AK to do this, and yes Beware, only do it with people you trust.

also I would only pay what ever the lowest spell in that category would go for, dont pay high end spell price for turn in.

This was very common on AK. As far as scammers go, I highly doubt it here. Its def a gamble but isn't everything?? Most guilds would crackdown on a member if they found out, that's one safeguard.

No they wouldn't.
Hell, they could post screen shots here on the forums and it would be a running meme for two months.
