Another new player.

Postby nikkei » Wed May 16, 2018 2:12 am

Hello p2002

I used to play a shaman named Nikkei and a beastlord named Kamandi on Drinal back in the day. I have just joined the server and i created a Human Female Monk named Lilium and i am currently hunting in West Freeports newbie zone.

The Monk is fairly new to me since i never played one on live. I have reached lvl 3 and have gotten som cloth armor from the skeletons and am currently sporting 2 ulaks, switching in the 1Hb i got as a starter weapon to keep skills up.

Now, i did venture briefly into East Commonlands and started hunting fire beetles and skeletons there since the exp in newbie zone seemed to drop dramatically, it didn´t take long tho for an air elemental to jump me and "port" me back to the newbie zone.

Upon dying i noticed that i didn´t loose any exp and i resurfaced wwith my gear still on me, is it at lvl 5 that i will need to do CRs to retrieve my corpse and items?

I am looking forward to meeting others ingame and maybe have some fun times together.

Thanks all for the welcome and info.
I am currently lvl 5 hunting in the most southern part of the northern desert of ro, close to the inn.

I did pick up a quest from the monk trainer in freeport wich in the end should yield me a pair of new gloves.
2 large sewing kits was bought so i could farm stuff longer than one minute before needing to sell.

I did notice that the exe installer also included some extra UI´s to try out and since i already love the Duxa UI
i just loaded it and it looks great.

You should really make a shammy box with that monk, its a super simple and effective duo!
Aslan - Bard
Lucien - Wizard
Naughtius - Shaman
Aztefano - Ranger
Bones - Shadowknight
Gyros - Magician
Fruli - Cleric

Yes shammy should almost always be close by a monk... It's like they were mentioning to be a duo...

Tagging along this thread with another new person question. I want to give a Paladin a go, for the odd race paladins (Erudite and High Elf), is it better to dump the start points into stamina or strength? I seem to remember this was a hot topic way back in the day about dumping into stamina for tanks since most items were +str. Any thoughts?

I was thinking of boxing with an enc/wiz or a cleric maybe for third. I played a monk and a shaman way back in the day so I don't want to go down that road really.

It is easier to Max str then sta... But PoP pretty much negates starting stats...

For leveling fresh, I'd go stam all the way. End game it won't matter like Manstomper said. But, those little bit of extra hp will be really nice til you get there.
